Samantha Mohr
Entering her first pageant at the advice of an acquaintance of UGA students, Mohr won the Miss Columbus 1985 title. With this win, Mohr qualified for her place in the Miss Georgia pageant which was scheduled for June 1985. Mohr won The title Miss Georgia 1985 on Saturday 22 June 1985. Mohr took home more than $3500 worth of scholarships, as well as prizes at the pageant for the state. In her role as Miss Georgia the state, she made performances in public across the state of Georgia. Mohr represented Georgia at Miss America 1986 in Atlantic City (New Jersey) in September of 1985. With computer models that accurately forecasted that Susan Akin would be named Miss America, Mohr's odds were calculated at 22: one. Mohr did not make The Top 10 list for national crown. Mohr's tenure as Miss Georgia lasted until she crowned her successor, Marlesa Ball, Miss Georgia 1986 on June 28 on June 28, 1986.
